Pre-Fire Plans

I. Scope:

Pre-Fire plans provide extremely valuable information to the on-scene incident commander.  However, if not current, such as contacts no longer associated to the business or building, can hamper the efforts of the department.

II. Safety Codes Officers:

Department Safety Codes Officers shall:

A.   Incorporate inspection visits with the creation and maintenance of pre-fire plans in mind.

B.    Maintain the existing pre-fire plans ensuring that all information on the buildings and owners are updated and accurate, as resources allow.

C.   Identify all high, medium and low risk facilities within the Town of Vegreville and in conjunction with the County Fire Chief, County of Minburn and create the Fire plans for those sites.

III. Reports:

The inspection reports are housed with the department administrative assistant and are linked to the building pre-fire plans.  The information is available to command to be able to contact the business owner as well as the building owner or the person representing either party.

IV. New Businesses:

New business inspections are required for licensing purposes in the Town of Vegreville.
